Welcome to Secondary Strategies II, the fourth course in the series Differentiated Instruction.

Differentiation in the secondary classroom requires adjustments in response to student performance. Preassessment helps the teacher understand student abilities in relation to learning goals before the unit begins, and before students are assigned to groups or teams.

In a differentiated classroom, students work in a variety of configurations. Fostering collaboration among students will support groups and teams working together on assignments that are aligned with the same goals. Several strategies used with instructional clarity can make differentiation work well in the 7-12 classroom.

This course should take 10-12 hours of study time to complete all assignments and the reflection questions as directed. There are three written assignments including the reflection questions at the end of the course.
